software functionality that enhances the functionality of a NetBotz appliance, and are only available through the purchase of an Extended
Warranty (contact us for details).

All Premium Software Modules released during the term of an Extended Warranty Service Package are FREE and PERMANENT software downloads. Each PSM is
a superset of all previous versions, which means that every PSM contains not only the functionality in its respective release, but the content of
all previous releases as well.

3 Ways PSMs Provides Additional
Value:
|
|
TOP
|
- Increased Security
Camera Block-Out – Camera Block-Out protects locations in which sensitive information is communicated, covering the sensitive area
with a gray box (in both ‘live view’ and the recorded clips). Camera Block-Out is ideal for locations with:
- Displays
- Keyboard sequences (i.e., passwords)
- Door lock combinations
- Anywhere else you don't want sensitive information visible
Digitally Signed Clips - Digitally signed camera clips are the digital equivalent of a visually watermarked document. "Digital
watermarking" is achieved through a digital encryption technique and makes tampering with an image or sequence of images easily detectable.
Digitally signed clips are helpful for court admissibility by ensuring that an image has not been tampered with.
- Expanded Software Management
MapView in Advanced View – MapView will allow a map or graphic to be imported into the management screen of the Advanced View
management system. Icons representing pods, sensors, appliances, etc will turn red, yellow, or green with sensor thresholds, allowing for a
quick visual check of which piece of equipment has exceeded a threshold, and where that equipment physically resides. The result is a shortened
troubleshooting timeframe as problems are quickly identified and resolved.
- Flexible Deployment Options
Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) – This value-add software application adds new capabilities to the NetBotz system
by reporting the internal conditions of third party servers into the NetBotz management system, allowing for seamless monitoring of elements in
a remote area. IPMI is a standard specification for servers, and performs system management tasks such as reporting of internal hardware
information like processor temperatures, fan speeds, and power supply voltages. The IPMI data will be managed to look just like any other
NetBotz sensor, including the ability to set thresholds and view graphs.
Advanced Device Crawlers (ADC) – Advanced Device Crawlers make it easier than ever to obtain critical internal environmental conditions
of network equipment, integrating the internal physical ‘vital signs’ of servers, switches, routers, UPS, and other network equipment using
the MIB-II based status information. The ADC data will be managed to look just like any other NetBotz sensor, including the ability to set
thresholds and view graphs.
Network Attached Storage (NAS or SAN) – NAS storage devices are standard third party networkattached storage devices used for storage
on the network. This software application will allow NetBotz 500 appliances to store data/images to NAS on the same LAN the appliances are on,
and utilize third party, generic devices that are already on the network. Through the Pod Sharing feature (below), alerts and data from NetBotz
420 and 320 appliances may be stored on network storage used by a 500.
Pod-Sharing – NetBotz’s Pod-Sharing software application enables even greater deployment flexibility by treating a NetBotz 420 or
NetBotz 320 as a ‘virtual pod’ of the NetBotz 500. The pod appliances may be viewed through the Advanced View GUI of the NetBotz 500 for a
comprehensive management solution. When combined with the MapView application and NAS storage, this application allows a NetBotz 500 to act as a
site manager for small or remote sites for sophisticated applications that require consolidated management without the deployment size necessary
for a NetBotz Central.
Third Party Intelligent Power Strip Integration – Prevent the demise of remote IT equipment through the use of this powerful
integration application. NetBotz now integrates Output Power Control into all industry leading intelligent power strip manufacturers, allowing
the NetBotz solution to provide power on/off for each port on a power strip and provide a hard shut down of individual ports. The amperage
and/or voltage may be monitored on selected power strips as well. To view a list of all specific models with which NetBotz is compatible, please

How PSMs Work:
|
|
TOP
|
Customer A and Customer B have Extended Warranty agreements for their NetBotz appliances that expire on October 31, 2004. Customer A has renewed
their Extended Warranty coverage for another full year, expiring October 31, 2005. Customer B did not renew their coverage.
Customers A and B received the PSM 2.2 license key automatically when they upgraded their NetBotz Version 2 (500/420/320) appliances to BotzWare
2.2. This is because these appliances were under Extended Warranty coverage at the time BotzWare 2.2 was released.
When BotzWare 2.3 and PSM 2.3 are released in December 2004, Customer A will receive the PSM 2.3 license key for their appliances since their
Extended Warranty coverage was renewed. Customer B's Extended Warranty coverage expired on October 31 and they did not renew, therefore Customer B
will not receive PSM 2.3 license keys. However, Customer B still will receive the base BotzWare 2.3, and Customer B's appliances will continue to be
licensed for PSM 2.2, and they have continued use of those features.
Each PSM is a superset of the previous PSMs, for example PSM 2.3 will include all of the PSM 2.2 features plus new features available only in PSM
2.3. So in the example above, a PSM 2.3 license key will replace the PSM 2.2 license key on Customer A's appliances.
What about a customer who buys Extended Warranty coverage beginning after PSM 2.2 and PSM 2.3 are released? This could be a new customer or an
existing customer who did not previously have coverage. This customer, who we'll call Customer C, buys Extended Warranty coverage with a start date
of May 1, 2005. Then. say that a PSM 2.4 (hypothetical) is released in June 2005. When they upgrade their appliances to BotzWare 2.4 (also
hypothetical), Customer C will receive PSM 2.4 license keys, which will include new features plus all of the features in PSMs 2.2 and 2.3.

Q1. How do I gain access to PSM capabilities in BotzWare?
A1. You must purchase an Extended Warranty agreement for your appliance(s) and then register that extended warranty via the NetBotz product
registration web page. Once the registration process is complete, a PSM license key will be generated that will unlock the additional functionality
on your appliance.
Q2. Once an extended warranty is purchased, how long do I have access to new PSMs?
A2. You have access to all PSMs that become available for as long as your extended warranty is valid or in service. The PSM license key that is
generated contains an expiration date that is the same as the expiration date of your extended warranty.
Q3. Does the additional PSM software capability "go away" when my Extended Warranty expires causing my PSM license key to expire?
A3. No. When the PSM license key expires, all software enabled software capability remains. However you will not receive access to new software
capabilities released in future PSMs.
Q4. When I install my PSM license key, do I get access to all the previous PSM software functionality?
A4. Yes.
Q5. My PSM license key has expired, how to I get a new PSM license key?
A5. Renew your extended warranty for your NetBotz Appliance(s).
Q6. Do PSMs apply to NetBotz appliances and NetBotz Central?
A6. No. Today PSMs only apply to NetBotz appliances (BotzWare).
Q7. Will additional PSMs be made available for BotzWare version 1.x appliances?
A7. At this time there is only one PSM available for BotzWare version 1 appliances and it grants access to Advanced Device Crawlers for the 310 and
400 models. Currently NetBotz has no plans to release future PSMs for BotzWare version 1 appliances.
Q8. I had to reformat/reset my NetBotz appliance and I have lost my PSM license key. How do I obtain a new one?
A8. All of the PSM license keys for your entitled appliances can be obtained from the NetBotz
product registration web site. Once you login with your userid and password you can view the license keys for your appliances.
